The NSS aims in developing the inner potentialities and transforming the students mentally to fit into the society to which he/she belongs.
With the objectives of NSS, it is there to develop multidisciplinary personality of the student youth so as to gain skills in mobilising community participation, acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes, develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters, etc. along with their academics.
The NSS Units of CTAE has been fulfilling the objectives of NSS by encouraging and supporting active participation of youth in the process of socially valuable and nation building activities and has also been important in development of personality of the youth.
During the session of 2015-2016 National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-I of CTAE whole heartedly contributed towards achieving the broad objective of NSS like identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process, develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility, develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities, gain skills in mobilizing community participation, acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude, develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and practice national integration and social harmony.
To achieve abovementioned objectives the volunteers participated in many activities and programmes throughout the year. A few of them are given here:
Orientation Programme
An orientation programme was held for the newly registered volunteers of NSS. The programme was held to understand the view of newly registered volunteer about their role in nation development.
NSS Day Celebration
The NSS Day (24th September) was celebrated by the newly registered NSS volunteers. Various messages and awareness was created by the performances of the volunteer’s viz. mime, skit and dance.
Railway Station Cleaning
NSS volunteer organize rally to aware community for cleaning of public property and clean the Udaipur city railway station.
Tree Plantation
The purpose of tree plantation is to save the endangered environment and to beautify our life. NSS volunteers planted various types of more than 50 plants in the CTAE campus. Tree Plantation programme was held in July and August month. Many faculty members and staffs also enthusiastically participated in tree plantation.
Services in Adopted Village
Volunteers visited nearby Nala Phala and Badi village and performed street plays there for spreading the message of cleanliness among primary school children. They also conveyed villagers about the various government schemes for the development of farmers and villagers.
Celebration of National Unity Day
The National Unity Day was celebrated to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary by carrying out various events. CTAE NSS volunteers observed the day with great enthusiasm. A group of 70-80 volunteers took part along with teaching and non-teaching staff. A documentary on the life and work of Patel was also screened at conference hall of the CTAE. NSS program Officer J. K. Maherchandani and Manjeet Singh administered the pledge to staff and students. Banners and posters spreading message of unity and security were displayed
.
Visit of Special Home
NSS volunteers visited the hostel for hearing impaired (deaf and dumb) children and tried to convey the importance of “Swachh Bharat Mission” with the help of posters. NSS volunteers arranged a group dinner for the hostel children from the fund collected during game fair. The visits were useful to develop a trust relationship between NSS volunteers and special children.
Interaction with Special Children
Fund Collection and donation
On the request of national foundation for communal harmony and Indian association for the blind NSS volunteers collected the donation. Total Rs 8200/- were collected and two draft of Rs 4100/- is sent to both organizations.

Swachh Bharat Mission
Throughout the session NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in various activities held under Swachh Bharat Mission. Different type of events such as awareness program, competitions, rallies and Shramdan etc were successfully organized by NSS volunteers.

Character Building and Awareness Program
Throughout the session various invited talks were organized for the NSS volunteers. The eminent speakers from Akshay Patra Foundation, Swami Vivekanand Kendra, Hare Rama Hare Krishna Society etc. interacted with the volunteers and motivated them for nation service.
National Leaders Statue Cleanliness Drive
College NSS unit organized a national leader’s statue cleanliness drive. Different teams consisting seven or eight members were formed and sent to different locations for cleaning of the statue of national leaders in city and nearby area.
Blood Donation Camp
Blood donation camps are being continuously organized by the NSS unit from last few years. In these camp volunteers and other students of the college enthusiastically donated the blood. This year blood donation camp was organized on 10 February 2016 and 159 units of blood were donated.
Game Fair
Apart from social cause it was a venture for recreation and a portal for healthy interaction with students and staff, a “Game Fair” was organised. The girth encompassed by the games could be seen by the sporting participation of all staff and faculty members. The fair imbibed event management as well as cordial relationship among the students.
Participation in National Integration Camp
Ten NSS volunteers of CTAE, MPUAT had participated in the National Integration Camp during 21- 27 September, 2015 at L. D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad (Gujrat). Around 250 NSS volunteers from 10 States and 1 UT had participated in this National Integration Camp. Besides working toward the basic aim of national integration, the event provided an opportunity for volunteers from participating states to work and be a part of the process to restore peace and harmony in country.
The expert from various fields addressed the participant and appealed the youth to play positive role in making India strong and vibrant by playing a bigger role in nation building activities.
Achievements:
NSS volunteers from MPUAT represented Rajasthan state team. They got an opportunity to hold a discussion with chief minister of Gujarat SMT. ANANDI BEN PATEL about various social issues like women education & empowerment, higher and technical education and vibrant Gujarat summit.

National Integration Camp
Gandhi Week
First week of October was celebrated as Gandhi Week. In this week various competition were held based on the teachings of Gandhi Ji. The main purposes of these events are not only to help the volunteers to understand the life, thinking and contribution of Gandhi Ji but also to take a lesson from his life.

Slogan Writing, Skit and Awareness Campaign for Water Conservation
NSS volunteer participated in slogan writing events and presented skit on world water day 22nd March 2016 to create awareness of water saving in the community.
