Innovations & Best Practices
Innovation is the process of making changes to something established by introducing some- thing new. An innovative practice could be a pathway created to further the interest of the student and the institution, for internal quality assurance, inclusivepractices and stakeholder relationships. The university has worked and working on the following innovations and best practices:In order to bring excellence in academic, innovations are to be a part of planning and execution all the times. A few innovations and best practices in academics introduced and followed by CTAE are:
Smart Class Rooms: Establishment of more than 50 smart class rooms to provide better teaching facilities to students. It also gives better atmosphere and understanding of academics for to students.
Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality: VR and AR which are currently been in all fields as also taken a place in education sector. It is not yet been used full-fledged however picking up at a faster pace. This creates an immersive learning space for children and enables them in better understanding. Keeping this in view a “Digital Technology Cell” is established with these facilities at introductory stage. Also University Convocation 2020 is an example of using this which was appreciated at National level.
E-learning Resources: Development of e-learning resources are the need of the day to make reading material available to students all the times. MPUAT has developed more than 300 e-contents covering all most all courses and are uploaded on university website for open access. Development of Virtual Labs is the main focus area of CTAE.
Teaching with Collaboration: Another innovative method of teaching involves encouraging student collaboration for various projects. Projects related to their courses are assigned to students and are asked to submit reports for further open discussion. This helps in developing creativeness in student and better learning of the subject. STUDENT – READY program is the most relevant example of this which is very well adopted in the CTAE.
Online Courses and Learning: This trend is being most encouraged in MPUAT and students are accessing to various online courses, trainings, internships etc. All most all the times the course fee is borne by the university. This provides them an opportunity to get better understanding on tough subjects by doing additional courses on the same subjects. It also helps them to focus more on their preferred area and do in-depth research on those subjects.
Introduction of 3D Printing: CTAE is always keen to introduce students the upcoming things which can be useful to them. To fulfill this objective recently 3D printer with scanner is procured so that students can be practically familiar to this latest technique.
Environment Consciousness: Everyone in the university should be environment conscious to protect it. With this aim, initiatives are taken to create awareness regarding energy conservation practices such as use of renewable energy, Solar PV systems, biogas production and uses etc., Rooftop water harvesting structures, rain water harvesting, vermicomposting, organic farming, soil sustainability etc.
Internet and Wi/Fi campus: University is well equipped with advance high speed internet facility which is available to all students, faculty and staff of the CTAE. The campus is having Wi/Fi facility which improves the working ability all the times.
Best Practices
CTAE is dedicated for overall development of students, faculty and staff. Some of the best practices adopted in academics are as below.
Teaching-Learning Process Academic Calendar: The CTAE announces academic calendar annually which provides date of commencement of the academic session, duration of semester, period of internal assessment tests, final semester examinations etc. The University provides, at the beginning of academic session, Course structure, detailed Unit wise topics, number of teaching classes allocated for each Unit, to each and every student.
Bridge Classes for Competitive Examinations: CTAE is conducting bridge classes for competitive examinations such as JRF, SRF, GATE, Management courses, employability, improvement in learning etc. for students round the year.
Student Seminars: This best practice enhances the listening ability, leadership quality among students, the communication enhancement through oral communication, sharing of knowledge uplifts while preparing.
Industrial Visits: It provides students an insight regarding internal working of companies and industries.
Soft skill Development: Experts for various fields are regularly interacting with students and faculty to improve their capabilities in all sections.
Power Point Presentations: This enhances the students’ abilities to retain what is being taught, especially to those who are visual learners. Also, Teachers can focus on the class and have more interaction with students.
