Curriculum - Quality Standards: |
The undergraduate programmes of the college are designed to be at par with the best in the country. The curriculum exceeds the minimum standards set by various regulatory bodies. |
Evaluation System - A Rigid Quality Control: |
Best of the syllabus and curriculum are of no avail if there is no proper quality control. The admissions are based on merit, through the state and central level common entrance examinations only. The college (university) follows a system of continuous evaluation with a mid term test and end semester university examination with external papers. Even in the practical examinations, external examiner (i.e. examiners from other colleges of the country) system is followed to improve the standard of evaluation. The university adopts a grading system in which every course of study along with their theory and practical parts have been assigned numerical weights or credits on a rational and scientific basis and the students performance is expressed in terms of Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA). As a result, the performance reflects a weighted average of all the courses studied by him rather than a simple average in the percentage system being followed by most of the universities/colleges. It must be mentioned that the percent system always gives a percentage which is higher by few percent points than the equivalent percentage of OGPA. |
