A day with the Robin Hood Army – 22nd January, 2020
The Robin Hood Army, a volunteer based, zero-funds organization primarily working to get surplus food from restaurants and the community to serve less fortunate people, visited CTAE College in the First Year Block on 22nd January 2020. Dr. A. K. Chittora, Ms. Nitika Gulati, Dr. Pooja Singh, Ms. Soniya Sahu and Mr. Rajesh Gahlot of Basic Science Department attended the program.
Volunteers from Robinhood Army addressed the college students and motivated them for joining the NGO. They presented the work they have carried out globally, to the audience, through a Power Point presentation, talking about the various social activities in which students can get involved. For example, volunteers can teach underprivileged kids and distribute the spare cooked food to the poor. The volunteers don’t have to spare much time to serve this NGO - 2 hours on the weekend would be enough.
After explaining the vision and mission of the NGO, an activity session was carried out with the students. Sheets with drawings and slogans were distributed to the students, who had to engage with the NGO kids and help them colour.
It was a great initiative where students could interact with the kids and get inspired to contribute, in their own little ways, for the upliftment of the less privileged, including homeless families, orphanages, patients from public hospitals, and old age homes. In all, it was an encouraging, fun-filled session for everyone.
